I've never been much of a believer of DiBiase, as he pales in comparison to his father, "The Million Dollar Man." But this past Monday has made me see differently.
When he first came to the WWE, there wasn't much to look at. He rode the coat tails of his father and won the World Tag Team Titles in his debut match. He even won the titles again against the team of John Cena and Batista, but it still wasn't impressive. But then, there was Legacy.
The faction comprised of 2nd Generation Superstars, led by Randy Orton. It was there that DiBiase became an Orton clone... Wow, how entertaining. But then... There was DX.
When DX reunited at Summerslam, they took Legacy under their wing to build them up as a top heel team. DiBiase and Rhodes even made Shawn Michaels, The Main-Event, The Icon, tap out at Breaking Point. Then there were differences...
Two weeks ago, Rhodes pinned DiBiase to get on the RAW team; and then, later on, DiBiase pinned Orton, instead of Cena, to win a tag team match. You never EVER cross the Viper, because you will pay for your actions. And he did, when Orton swore that if he tried to pin him or even fight back... Legacy would be short one member.
DiBiase chose not to fight back. But the intensity and the look in his eyes told the whole story. The fact that DiBiase's whole body was shaking in rage towards Orton, how it looked as if at any second he would explode in a fit of fury and destroy Orton from the face of the ring! DiBiase did shove Orton off his feet, but he chose his path when he waited patiently for the RKO.
Rumors are going around the dirt sheets that DiBiase will be going through a face change, and it almost looked as if that would happen on RAW, but his allegiance still lies with Legacy.
DiBiase once had an actual match against Orton for the WWE Title, and it was a really impressive match. It slowly seems that DiBiase will turn Face in the future, or just one day disband from Legacy on his own.
Side Note: DiBiase will appear on the straight to DVD sequel of The Marine.
