DX Captains RAW Team; DiBiase Pins Orton?

With 2 weeks before WWE presents its newest pay-per-view, things are really starting to heat up on Monday Nights. Chris Jericho started off by announcing that there will be a 7 on 7 tag team match pitting the best from RAW against SmackDown, and that he will captain the SmackDown team because he is the best in the world at what he does. However, RAW Guest Host, Access Hollywood's own, Nancy O'Dell cut Jericho off - because a member of SmackDown doesn't kick off RAW, but DX does. Jericho was left speechless - for once.

One half of DX, Triple H, officially kicked off RAW, with the time keeper filling in for Michaels, running around the ring and holding the mic like a sword. Triple H went through a bit of a skit involving phoning Michaels at home and peddling the new Unauthorized Story of D-Generation X, of course. Because DX, just like Gene Simmons, is the biggest merchandise peddler in the business.

Interesting point made for those of you who don't recall, not only can Jericho and Show appear on any show because they are the Unified Tag Team Champions - but Jericho is a member of SmackDown while Show is on the RAW roster. People just assumed both were a part of SmackDown. Triple H instigated Big Show into believing that Jericho orders him around, which broke into an argument of who really carries the team - the brains or the brawn's? It escalated to the extent that Big Show did not want to fight alongside Jericho but alongside his RAW roster. The team that is captained by none other than D-Generation X. But in order to land a slot on the team you have to win a qualifying match - arranged by none other than Triple H.

If you notice, Nancy O'Dell only called one match on RAW last night, the beauty of peddling your program, or in Maria Menounos position, peddling her new movie, without really doing much. The whole night was arranged by Triple H - issuing Qualifying matches while even Santino Marella called a match.

The 1st Qualifying Match: Chris Jericho vs Big Show. Now the stipulation did not apply to Jericho since he's the captain of The SmackDown team, but if Show wanted on the RAW team he would have to go through his partner. Show has a point, he does carry the team with that knock out punch of his, but Jericho rejuvenated his career: New look, new belts. If it wasn't for Jericho, Show would still be in dead end feuds. Show didn't really want to fight Jericho, but Jericho wanted to stop his friend from advancing to DX's team. Jericho even faked a knee injury to lure Show out of the ring for the 10 count, but Show still managed to block Jericho from the ring and thus advancing to the RAW team.

The following Qualifying Match was a Triple Threat: Legacy vs. John Cena. Now, only one can advance to the RAW team, which means that at one point in the match, Rhodes and DiBiase would have to confront the other. For the most part it worked like a handicap match with Legacy teaming up on John Cena. But with Orton distracting Cena, Rhodes didn't go for Cena, but his partner DiBiase for the pinfall victory. Thus, Rhodes advances while upsetting the balance of his partnership.

The 3rd Qualifying Match: Jack Swagger vs. MVP. Last week, Swagger made a promise to remain undefeated by years end, and after pinning Bourne last week - Swagger is 1-0. MVP is a former rival of Swagger's, once feuding for origins of upbringing, last night was a rematch of this bout. Last night's RAW program has been pitting tag teams against one another, (Jeri-Show and Legacy) but MVP and Mark Henry have not been together long enough to sell a dispute against one another, so MVP was set to fight Swagger instead. Jack Swagger pinned MVP with the Gut-Wrench Powerbomb; thus advancing to the RAW team and keeping the streak going, 2-0.

The final Qualifying match of the night: Evan Bourne vs. Kofi Kingston. The match was a high paced-high flying match, but as I have said, Evan is a jobber and what do jobbers do? They lose matches that is their job. So with that said, Kofi advanced to the RAW team.

The final slot will be determined on WWE Superstars: Mark Henry (WSM) vs "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters.

The RAW team so far is: DX, Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger, and Kofi Kingston.

Another match was also announced for Bragging Rights: United States Champion, The Miz will go one-on-one with his former tag team partner, Intercontinental Champion, John Morrison.

The final match: John Cena and Orton vs. Legacy. Legacy were still at each others throats for what happened in the triple threat earlier on in the night. If Rhodes were to pin Orton, he could be the guy to pin both of his teammates on the same night - but if DiBiase could pin either one of them, he would certainly build some credibility. Orton however treated this as a Handicap Match. In the end, DiBiase pinned his mentor for the win. With Orton livid of the betrayal, what does this mean for Legacy?

It was announced that John Cena will face off against Triple H in what could be Cena's final match on RAW.
