CM Punk Preaches Straight-Edge for Hardy

Last week, Jeff Hardy and CM Punk were forced to team against Rated-Y2J. After taking a lot of bumps and several attempts to tag in an out of position Punk, Hardy slapped him across the chest for the emphatic tag. Punk, one knee lift into the match, started to look for Hardy for the tag out, but when he reached for Jeff's outstretched hand - Hardy pulled away in agony holding his own eye. Punk was left to fend for himself and fell victim to a spear by Edge.

Hardy appeared at the start of Smackdown wearing an eye patch claiming that unlike Punk he does not make up injuries, kick referee's backs, or forfeit matches. He then assertively called out to CM Punk, "So Punk, believe me when I say, my eye injury [removes patch] is just as serious as yours!"

Hardy is no doubt seeing 20/20 but after being distracted by Punk's presence during - what should have been a Swanton Bomb victory - ended up costing him the match as Kane choke slammed him from the top turnbuckle.

Later in the night, as Jeff commentated along J.R. and Todd Grisham - Punk had a few choice words of his own

"This is Polymyxin B Sulfate, I have to apply this to my eye three times a day. The only way you obtain this is with a prescription. From a doctor. Now I know you know a thing or two about prescription medication but I don't think you realize is that you have to go to a doctor to legally obtain some."

Clearly a shot at Jeff's prior suspensions due to failure to pass the WWE's Wellness Policy. Punk preaches to Hardy to live a Straight-Edge lifestyle and states that Jeff will never become Champion. From all of Jeff's opponents in the past, Orton, Triple H, Edge, Matt - none have been so detrimental as CM Punk.

Jeff Hardy has been known to escape through drugs, but after two strikes, the loss of his home and dog - Jeff Hardy has returned to the WWE to become a WWE Champion, and most recently a World Heavyweight Champion. But as everything in his life, his happiness keeps getting ripped away. Even McMahon has told Jeff that he doesn't want a guy with Jeff's history to represent Smackdown.

At Night of Champions it may be Hardy's last chance to grab the brass ring - one more time.
