Thoughts on Jeff Hardy on TNA

Last night, on what was possibly the most profound night in wrestling history witnessed Bret "The Hitman" Hart's return to the WWE after a 12-year grudge, and "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan changing the face of TNA as its new leader; but one of the most shocking moments of the night was seeing Former 3-time WWE World Champion, Jeff Hardy rushing through the TNA audience and performing a Twist of Fate on one of the promotion's X Division wrestlers. And the question on every one's mind is, Has Jeff signed with TNA?

Nothing is official as of yet, we can only speculate upon what we saw at the top of the program, and the parking lot footage of childhood friend and former WWE superstar, Shannon Moore, exclaiming to Jeff Hardy, "We got what we came for," while holding padded manila envelopes. Jeff Hardy replied, "We'll see."

For anyone that follows Shannon Moore on Twitter, would know that he has been trying to score a contract with TNA since the early part of the summer. Shannon's campaign included having his twitter followers message TNA's Dixie Carter requesting "The Prince of Punk" on TNA. After a barrage of tweets, Dixie Carter had ordered Shannon to call off his army stating that his future employment would be taken into consideration.

On Sunday night, as noted on his twitter profile, Shannon got the call from TNA executives to meet with Hulk Hogan at the historic live taping of Impact in Orlando, FL. Jeff Hardy noted on his twitter page that he would be driving down with Shannon for the taping. At this point, fans were heavily speculating that this meant Jeff was on board with TNA, I felt differently.

With names like Scott Hall, Sean Waltman, Ric Flair, The Nasty Boys, and Jeff Jarret making appearances on TNA, what bigger name would there be for TNA to exploit than Jeff Hardy? Needless to say, Jeff Hardy is no Bret Hart, but a former WWE mega star would at least stir some controversy, which it sure has. Jeff Hardy, along with 'TNA' and 'Hulk Hogan,' made his way to Twitter's Trending Topics which confirms that the world is talking about Jeff Hardy.

What does this mean for WWE? During his first stint with TNA, after being fired from WWE, Jeff Hardy was solely there to become something he had never accomplished in the WWE, and that was to become a World Champion. However, that never occurred in TNA, but Jeff did return to the WWE with a much more successful run that saw a good ending and 3 World Title reigns. It has been rumored that WWE has been trying to get a hold of Jeff for a WrestleMania card spot where he would face C.M. Punk, but his appearance at TNA's Impact show is proving that rumor to be less likely.

Would Jeff Hardy be good for TNA, and what role could be play? No doubt, Jeff Hardy was a huge commodity in the WWE, more so in his 2nd run, but things would be different. Unlike his first run with TNA, Jeff Hardy has a better work ethic, and has kept relatively free from drugs for close to 2 years. Yet, despite his high flying, I would not see him as being part of the X Division as he has mentioned before that he cannot keep up with the young guys anymore. He would mostly be focused on the main event card vying for the TNA World Title.

Has Jeff Hardy join TNA? Highly unlikely, but when it comes to Jeff nothing is out of the ordinary for the strange enigma.

The Long-awaited, Christian versus Matt Hardy

On ECW, GM Tiffany issued an ECW Homecoming Tournament to determine Christian's challenger at the Royal Rumble. Matt Hardy returned to ECW and won his qualifying match, earning a spot in the Final Showdown that takes place the week before the Royal Rumble. If Matt Hardy were to win and become the #1 contender, the wrestling fans would have the match that we have all been waiting for.

In early 2000, two tag teams were emerging and making an impact in the WWE. Formed by the bonds of brotherhood, The Hardy Boyz, and Edge and Christian were taking professional wrestling to new heights, quite literally 'heights', with the reestablishment of ladder matches and the innovation of the TLC matches. Each team gained much success with a bounty of tag team title reigns, 13 between the two. But unlike their other rival, The Dudley Boys, jealousy looked to break apart the teams of Edge and Christian, and The Hardys.

The older siblings, Matt and Christian, were believed to be the future of the business by one day becoming the company's top champions; but fate had other plans. After Jeff Hardy won the Intercontinental Title from Triple-H, and Edge became the 2001 King of the Ring winner, the younger siblings became fan favorites. Their success as singles competitors rose animosity amongst the elder brothers, which culminated in sibling rivalries.

Matt Hardy claimed that he was the brains behind Team Xtreme, and that without him, Jeff wouldn't even be in the WWE, let alone wrestle. Matt was given a European Title reign, but it seemed like a charity case on the part of Mr. McMahon to keep him happy. Well, Matt wasn't happy, and took out his frustrations on Jeff at Vengeance 2001, with then-girlfriend Lita as the special guest referee. Jeff managed to get the better of his brother, and went on to feud with The Undertaker for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Jeff Hardy, in such a short time, was already competing for the richest prize in sports entertainment, while Matt decided to reinvent himself with Version-1. Eventually, Jeff Hardy was released from the company for erratic behavior, drug use, refusal to go to rehab, and deteriorating ring performance, as well as constant tardiness and no-showing events. But Matt as well would be released due to real life issues with Lita and Edge.

Christian, on the other hand, didn't contemplate too much before betraying Edge and entering a feud for the I-C Title. Both Edge and Christian managed well as singles competitors, Edge capturing the traditional Intercontinental and United States titles, and Christian capturing defunct titles: European, Light Heavyweight, and Hardcore Titles, along with the, still-active, Intercontinental. However, at WrestleMania 21, the true shift of power occurred in the first-ever Money in the Bank Ladder Match as Edge went on to win the briefcase granting him a shot at any World Title. As Edge went on to become the WWE Champion, Christian departed from the WWE.

Edge became a top heel in the business, having feuded separately with both Matt and Jeff, and became a 9-time World Champion. Jeff Hardy, after returning to the WWE in 2006, captured a multitude of titles, including the Intercontinental title three more times, another run as the World Tag Team Champions with his brother Matt, and becoming a 3-time World Champion. Matt Hardy, despite an impressive comeback after surgery, became the United States Champion and later captured the ECW Title. Christian returned from his hiatus on TNA and the independent circuit and became a 2-time ECW Champion.

So, despite Matt and Christian having had numerous triumphs in their career, Edge and Jeff Hardy overshadowed their accomplishments by rising to the top of the WWE holding world championship titles. Once believed to be the future of the business, are now forced to settle for the re-hashed ECW Title. Christian is, to this date, the longest reigning WWE-era ECW Champion, and is still the current title-holder. Matt Hardy and Christian know the detriment of being overlooked and settling for the ECW Title; while their younger siblings grew into household names.

At Extreme Rules, Edge and Jeff Hardy discovered who was the better of the youngsters in a ladder match to determine the World Heavyweight Champion. Jeff Hardy won that exchange, which later led to Edge being put on the shelf for a torn Achilles tendon. Now, comes the time for the wrestling world to know who is, in fact, the better of the two older siblings: Matt Hardy, with his "Never Say Die" attitude, or Captain Charisma?

WWE RAW Presnts The Slammy's 2009; Shawn Michaels Challenges Undertaker One-More -Time at WrestleMania; Bret Hart to Host RAW?

The Slammy Award for "Tag Team of the Year" presented by R-Truth and Jillian Hall. The nominees are: The New Unified Tag Team Champions, D-Generation X; The Former Unified Tag Team Champions, Jeri-Show; Legacy's Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase; or The Hart Dynasty's Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith. And the winner: Jeri-Show! Chris Jericho thanks his former tag team partner Edge for "selfishly" stepping down as his tag team partner, and he thanks himself, because he was smart enough to chose the Big Show as his partner. Chris Jericho challenges DX for the Unified Tag Team Titles as part of their rematch clause.

First Match: Christian, Kane and The Great Khali vs. The Ruthless Roundtable. ECW's lowest rated faction, The Ruthless Roundtable, boast about being the most dominate team in the WWE. What has The Roundtable done? William Regal has failed to capture the ECW Title on three separate occasions; and Kozlov and Jackson cannot even get along, let alone get in line for a tag team title opportunity. The reigning ECW Champion, Christian challenged the Roundtable to a match with two monsters of his own: Kane and The Great Khali. The Punjabi Playboy was on a long leave of absence since Kane destroyed him. How do they patch that bit of grudge history? Well, it's WWE: the moto is not show something long enough and hopefully the fans will forget. Unfortunately for them, I don't forget. Christian made very few tag-ins to the match - do you blame him, he was part of a ladder match just 24 hours ago. The monsters mostly dominated the match, with Khali getting the win over Kozlov with the Punjabi Plunge. They really don't know what to do with these once unstoppable monsters, do they? Also note, that each of these competitors have been a member of the ECW brand at least once within the past 3 years.

The Slammy Award for "Breakout Star of The Year" presented by SmackDown GM, Teddy Long and ECW GM, Tiffany. The nominees are: The New Intercontinental Champion, Drew McIntyre; Abraham Washington; Yoshi Tatsu; or The New WWE Champion, Sheamus. And the winner: The Celtic Warrior, The New WWE Champion, Sheamus! He walked in, with his newly won WWE Championship around his waist, staring down the WWE Universe with a smile on his face because no one believed that he could do it, "Do you take me seriously now?"

Second Match: Kofi Kingston vs. Cody Rhodes. You can see the damage Randy Orton's punt inflicted on Kofi Kingston, as he now walks around with a target on his left shoulder. It's amazing the agility that Kofi posses even after being punted in the armpit, a move that has sidelined many superstars for months. Cody Rhodes kept his focus on the left shoulder, but the match was broken up by Ted DiBiase. Evan Bourne came to the aid of Kofi Kingston.

And The Slammy for "Greatest Decision by a RAW Guest Host" invented, presented, and accepted by Dennis Miller. Dennis Miller restarted the match as a tag team match.

Second Match (Restarted): Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne vs. Legacy. Remember, both Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne got their start on ECW, before being drafted to Monday Nights. Not much has been down with Bourne since, unless you count the successful job he's doing at... well, jobbing. Kofi kept DiBiase distracted outside, while Bourne was left with the son of "The American Dream." With the distraction from the outside, Rhodes attempted to go for Cross-Rhodes, but it was countered. Yet, not for one second did I believe Bourne would get the upset, why? Because Bourne is happy just competing in the WWE, so for the rest who are actually their to rise to the top of the mountain, Cody connected with Cross-Rhodes to end the match.

The Slammy Award for "Shocker of the Year" presented by Vickie Guerrero and Santino Marella. The nominees are: Batista turns on Rey Mysterio at WWE Bragging Rights; Randy Orton DDT's Stephanie McMahon and kisses her as Triple H is forced to watch; CM Punk defeats Jeff Hardy in a Steel Cage Match, forcing Jeff to leave the WWE; or Sheamus slams RAW Guest Host Mark Cuban through a table. The winner is: CM Punk for defeating Jeff Hardy.

First Superstar of the Year Tournament Match: John Cena vs. CM Punk. Last year, CM Punk won the Slammy for OMG! Moment of the Year, for cashing in his first MitB on Edge to win his first World Heavyweight Championship - oh, how things have changed in a year. CM Punk is now being awarded for getting rid of the Charismatic Enigma, or Enabler, and has also taken on a cult leader persona. CM Punk, not only turns away from alcohol and drugs, he also seems to be afraid of a razor. The man is pulling a wise prophet look, possibly a false prophet? This is the second time that Cena and Punk duke it out, the first being on the 3-hour RAW Thanksgiving - seems to be a trend, no? John Cena won the match with his second attempt at the STF, forcing Punk to tap out. Then Cena made a heart-warming speech for some reason, about letting the fans down. Well Cena, you did because you failed to take Sheamus seriously. John Cena may have everyone else fooled, but he prides himself on being the face of the company, and to have a newbie like Sheamus, who has only been there for 6 months! Yes John, there are others out there who have not lost sight of why they are there. John Cena's real regret is forgetting why he's in the WWE. He's lost his competitive edge, accepting wins as if per usual. John Cena also vows to never lose another match until be becomes the WWE Champion again! With a speech like that, how is he not going to defeat Randy Orton? Yes, I knew it since then that Cena would face Randy Orton. WWE would never allow a WrestleMania-caliber match to take place on cable network television.

Second Superstar of the Year Tournament Match: Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker. The legendary Phenom has dominated this business for nearly twenty years. His WrestleMania Streak is unmatched, never to be replicated. The Undertaker is a seven-time, and current, World Champion. The Viper built his reputation of destroying legends, and for creating his own stable of second and third generation superstars known as Legacy. Randy Orton has captured both the illustrious WWE and World Heavyweight Championships on more than one occasion. It is no wonder as to why these two were nominated for Superstar of the Year. But only one can grace the stage and be recognized as the best in the business. Randy Orton is no stranger to the unbelievable energy that Undertaker brings into the ring, being one of the victims of the 17-0 streak, and failing to capture the Undisputed Championship at the start of his career. Undertaker may be undefeated at WrestleMania, but Orton has changed since then and, as we saw, a factor that he did not have back then, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. The Legacy members distracted Taker on the outside, and the Viper struck with an RKO. The finisher along with the distraction resulted in Undertaker being counted out – Randy Orton advances to face off against John Cena. Undertaker, on the other hand, chokeslammed Orton into the middle of the ring; lesson to be learned, don’t screw over The Undertaker.

The Slammy Award for "Best Match of the Year" presented by Triple H. The nominees are: Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania; John Cena vs. Randy Orton in a "I Quit" Match at Breaking Point; Jeff Hardy vs. Edge in a Ladder Match at Extreme Rules; or Team RAW vs. Team SmackDown at Bragging Rights. The winner is: Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker for their match at WrestleMania! Come on, like any of the other matches paled in comparison? I'm a fan of the Hardy-Edge ladder match, since both are veterans to ladder matches, but nothing can compare to Michaels and Taker. And to throw the Bragging Rights Match, they weren't even trying to pick a match at that point. I'm also a fan of the Orton-Cena rivalry, but the "I Quit" wasn't their best, it was the Iron Man Match! Shawn Michaels accepted the award, noting that he also won the award last year for his WrestleMania match with Ric Flair. Shawn Michaels, knowing that he came up short, also stated a challenge to the Undertaker - WrestleMania, ONE-MORE-TIME! Will we see Michaels-Undertaker at WrestleMania 26? Can they actually recreate a second WrestleMania moment that will live with us forever? If there is a re-match, it is only plausible that Taker's streak would end at 17-1. "It is Hell trying to get to Heaven," those were the words that fueled Shawn in that match, but he didn't exactly reach heaven. In order to end, both Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker, HBK has to win - laying both of these superstars to rest in peace.

Unified Tag Team Championship Match: (C) D-Generation X vs. Jeri-Show. Triple H asks Shawn Michaels to stand behind the referee, and then pushes him over Michaels. The referee called the bell and the match was over. DX lost the match via disqualification, but the titles cannot change hands on a DQ, only by pinfall or submission. What was also a kick in the crotch was that this match was Jericho's obligatory rematch clause for the titles and can no longer contend for them, but more strategically, can no longer be on RAW. If there was a Slammy for "Oh, SNAP!" then DX would have gotten it for this moment. Chris Jericho was escorted out of RAW by SmackDown and ECW superstars all dressed in DX garb. Goodbye, Chris Jericho, the RAW ratings will sure miss you.

The Slammy Award for "RAW Guest Host of the Year" presented by The Chairman of the Board, Vincent Kennedy McMahon. The nominees are: Bob Barker, Seth Green, Shaquille O'Neal, or Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. The winner is: Bob Barker! Personally, Ozzy and Sharon were my favorite hosts, I'm still waiting for mid-January to purchase I Am, Ozzy autobiography. And who can forget Seth Green, the first ever RAW Guest Host, and brought the Divas Bikini Blowout Rumble - King's and my dreams came true that night. As for Shaq, he was my least favorite. If Bob Barker was ten years younger, yes, I'm talking about Happy Gilmore Bob Barker, then yes, I would agree on the decision. McMahon asked RAW Guest Host, Dennis Miller on who he thinks should be a future guest host. Miller responded, Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Miller, who has been faltering on his jokes all night, finally had gotten a huge reaction from the RAW audience. McMahon chose not to respond and walked away. Will WWE have Bret Hart guest host on the... well, I dunno, the January 4th episode of RAW, on the same night that Hulk Hogan returns to wrestle on TNA, which moves to live taping on Monday Nights?

The Slammy Award for "Most Extreme Moment of the Year" presented by Carlito, Chris Masters, and Eve Torres. Chris Masters kept interrupting Carltio with his peck dance, which prompted an awesome question from Carlito, "Eve, can you do it as well?" Well, Carlito and the WWE Universe will never know. The nominees are: Kofi Kingston Boom Drops Randy Orton through a table at Madison Square Garden; Big Show throws Cena into a search light at Backlash; Jeff Hardy dives off a 20-foot ladder onto CM Punk at SummerSlam; or Triple H fights Randy Orton at Orton's home, throwing Orton through his front window? And the winner is: Jeff Hardy for diving off a ladder onto CM Punk. Accepting on behalf of Jeffro is his brother, Matthew Moore Hardy. This marks the second year in a row that Jeff Hardy wins the Extreme Moment of the Year, the first being diving off the RAW set 30-feet in the air onto Randy Orton. Jeff Hardy watched the RAW action as he noted on his twitter account "Love & miss You WWE universe.... thanx." My response, "We effin' love you Jeff Hardy! You are not only a 3x World Champion but a 2x Slammy Award winner for Extreme Moment 08-09!!!"

Fifth Match: John Morrison, Yoshi Tatsu, and Mark Henry vs. Drew McIntyre, Zack Ryder, and The Miz. Not only is The Miz the United States Champion, but Drew McIntyre is now the Intercontinental Champion. How does it feel for a team comprised of championless superstars going against a team with two? Well, obviously the one without the title will be the one that loses it for his team mates. When Zack Ryder was tagged in, he had the choice of facing Morrison, but he decided on Yoshi Tatsu instead. Well, Tatsu dropped the enziguri kick to win it for their team. Yoshi gets a push on his only night on RAW, good for the happy Japanese man!

The Slammy Award for "Oh My! Moment of the Year" presented by Abraham Washington, Tony Atlas, and Big Dick Johnson. The nominees are: Shawn Michaels superkicks little girl in cafeteria (Monday Night Raw, August); Chris Masters “dancing pecs” with the Osbournes on "Raw's Got Talent;" Michael Cole throws up on Chris Jericho at SD party (Decade of SmackDown special); or Santino Marella accidentally pies Vickie Guerrero in the face (Raw Thanksgiving). The winner is: Michael Cole for upchucking on Jericho! Michael Cole acted like he won the World Series or WrestleMania as he ran up the aisle to accept his award. He thanked his mentor J.R. who is still recovering from his 3rd Palsy attack.

Divas Tag Team Match: Mickie James, Maria, Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, The Bella Twins, and Melina vs. Michelle McCool, Natalya, Beth Phoenix, Maryse, Rosa Mendes, Alicia Fox, and Layla. All the Divas were dressed in evening gowns, how were they expected to compete? Well, all you need is two Divas who were dressed in movable clothing: Mickie James and Rosa will do seeing as they started and closed the match. Mickie gets the pin with the Mick-DDT. Congrats on that pointless filler Divas' match.

The Slammy Award for "Diva of the Year" presented by MVP and Goldust. The nominess are: every Diva! The winner is: Maria! This Slammy was supposedly voted upon by the WWE Universe on WWE.com, but what happened next seemed more than likely that it was staged. Maria accepted her award and thanked all the WWE Universe for believing in her - Then Batista interrupted, and spoke about Screw Job of the Year, and it goes to him because Teddy Long screwed him over in his match with The Undertaker. Batista kept saying, it's not about her, its about me! I was dying, the obvious pun at Taylor Swift and Kanye West definitely got some cool points with me. Some people were upset over Maria winning the Slammy, but in all reality it was a gag. Do we not remember the Miss WrestleMania Award won by Santino Marella, or Santina? WWE uses Divas as part of gags about 90% of the time.

The Final Superstar of the Year Match: John Cena vs. Randy Orton. The match was a bit of a let down, but exciting nevertheless. The Orton-Cena feud has been ‘the feud’ of recent WWE history. The feud started in late 2007, as Orton set to rid Cena of his one-year reign as WWE Champion and looked to establish the Age of Orton. Then, in 2008, Orton punted Cena’s father. And then, in 2009, the war raged on in singles, “I Quit,” Hell in a Cell, and, to finally end it all, a One-hour “Anything Goes” Iron Man match. “I Quit” was nominated for match of the year, how about that Iron Man match? Their final match was so entertaining, and the story they told in that match… so you see where this match was a treat, but it was also a disappointment. Cena connected with the Attitude Adjuster, but Orton landed himself near the ropes in order to break the 3-count. Yet a second Attitude was used to secure the win.

The Slammy Award for “Superstar of the Year” won through a tournament. The nominees are: CM Punk, The Undertaker, Randy Orton, and John Cena. The winner, by two hard fought matches, is: John Cena. The former WWE Champion vows to never lose a match until he becomes Champion once more; and that WrestleMania season, for him, starts right now.

Undertaker Screwed Over, Wrestlers Support Jeff Hardy After Arrest

Last night in Montreal, CM Punk sunk to new lows in order to reaffirm his beliefs and to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

GM Teddy Long has been pressured by McMahon to impress him, to do something spectacular, something that deserves excellence... Well, Long finally reached his breaking point when he ordered the World Heavyweight Title Match to be restarted, after Taker submitted Punk using Hell's Gate. The reason for this, is that former GM, Vickie Guerrero, banned the move shortly after WrestleMania XXIV. She made this decree after Taker injured so many, including her ex-husband Edge, with the blood choking hold. Who would'be guessed that Teddy would uphold it?

CM Punk took the chance to apply the Anaconda Vice, the move that made Matt Hardy tap out just the Friday before, on the Undertaker. But just as Punk finished getting the hold - Referee Scott Armstrong called for the bell.

The Undertaker has never submitted in his entire wrestling career, but on this night, where in 1997 Shawn Michaels and McMahon screwed Bret Hart from the WWE Title, more than ten years later, McMahon would screw over Hulk Hogan in 2003 and now The Undertaker in 2009. Much like the real life screw job of 97', Taker never tapped out. Let's just call this night, Montreal Screw Job III.

Prior to the match, CM Punk was interviewed by Josh Matthews and he goes on to mention: He is a Straight-Edge Champion that people can trust, and at least you won't see his mugshot all over the internet.

This is in regards to the recent arrest of Jeff Hardy 9/11/09:

Fayetteville Police Chief Deputy Neil Godfrey says that Jeff Hardy's home was searched Friday morning at 10:30am based on a police tip that there were drugs on the premises.

Upon arriving at the house, police encountered Hardy and "wife" (fiancee) Beth. After completing the search and finding the various drugs and paraphernalia, the police proceeded to arrest and charge the former WWE Superstar. Hardy's significant other was not included in the arrest.

Charged with "trafficking in opium, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for drugs, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia," according to the Observer, Hardy would face a mandatory prison term if convicted of some of the key charges. Opium trafficking, for instance, guarantees a three year stint behind bars.

Godfrey added that because the case remains under investigation, it is too early to determine if more charges-either against Hardy or others who are potentially involved - will be filed.

Hardy, who has not outright denied the alleged possession of drugs ranging from anabolic steroids to cocaine to Vicodin but has criticized inaccurate media reporting, is scheduled to make his first court appearance on the matter Monday.

Hardy, a former WWE World Champion and one of the most popular wrestlers in the modern era of the company, departed the organization for a personal hiatus a few weeks ago. Eerily, his final story-line, a feud with current World Champion, CM Punk, played off his history of alleged drug issues.

It's not a surprise then that CM Punk would attack Jeff unsubtly: "You will never see my mugshot all over the internet!"

However, throughout the twitter world, many of Jeff's fan base have fallen out of favor for the once-rainbow haired warrior. But those that are sticking by Jeff are not just the fans, but other wrestlers:

Jeff Hardy: Exodus of an Extreme Era

Phoenix Arizona were left heartbroken as the Jeff Hardy took a risk that ended his career.

After losing the World Heavyweight Title from CM Punk, Jeff Hardy issued his rematch clause in a Steel Cage Match for the following Smackdown. However, the newly crowned Champion proposed that who ever lost the match - would have to leave the WWE. Jeff Hardy, always living for the moment, accepted Punk's challenge and their Fates were set in stone by Smackdown GM Teddy Long.

Prior to the match, Jeff, applying his face paint, was visited by his brother Matt. Matthew Moore Hardy knows the huge risk that Jeff was taking accepting this match, but that's the way Jeff does things - That is why Matt said, "I respect you."

Matt has always been the older brother looking out for Jeff, but after coming back to see his brother as the World Heavyweight Champion and how the crowd cheers for him... his jealous rage subsided and understands that his brother is a man and can make his own decisions about his own life.

The Hardys joined the WWE when they were just kids. Jeff was actually only 16 but he lied about his age in order to try out. It was actually Matt who's life long dream it was to become a wrestler, while Jeff went along for the ride.

Since then, the two accomplished their dreams of becoming WWE World Tag Team Champions - and they have done that 7-times over. But their dreams kept growing, while other passions arose.

Jeff Hardy, in his first run with the WWE, kept missing house shows and failing drug tests. He was burned out, both physically and mentally. And no doubt, he had other passions other than wrestling.

On the Hardy Show, Jeff even mentions that he loves WWE, but it's more of a job than anything else. But during his three-year hiatus from the WWE, wrestling on the independent circuit and TNA, Jeff Hardy was drawn back and determined for a second run with the WWE.

Jeff Hardy, after his first run, was a multiple Tag Team, an Intercontinental, a European, and a Hardcore Champion - but he never won the Big one. People thought that Jeff would be one of those wrestlers with all the potential but never grasping the brass ring.

Jeff Hardy did have one WWE Title match against The Undertaker for the Undisputed WWE World Title in a ladder match. It was the match J.R. screamed at the top of the lungs, CLIMB THE LADDER KID, MAKE YOURSELF FAMOUS!

His second run around seemed at times to sore high, and at other times it fell low. Jeff was suspended twice for drug use and lost his home and his dog, Jack, to a fire. It didn't seem at all possible that Jeff Hardy would ever become the WWE Champion.

Until Armageddon 2008, Jeff Hardy entered the pay-per-view having stated on RAW that it doesn't matter if he walked, crawled, or carried out that he would become the WWE Champion. And wouldn't you know it, he actually pulled it off!

Until the following ppv, at the Royal Rumble, when Matt Hardy screwed Jeff over - thus, allowing Edge to become Champion.

But Jeff would get retribution at Backlash in an "I Quit" Match, where he forced Matt to utter the words I Quit, and I'm Sorry.

Then Jeff entered a program with Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship and finally became 2-time World Champion at Extreme Rules in a ladder match. Yet, he would lose it 5 minutes later when CM Punk cashed in to become the World Heavyweight Champion.

This started the feud with CM Punk and Punk's eventual heel change.

Tonight's Smackdown was one that truly embodied Living for the Moment as these two entered the Steel Cage and fought each other for the last time.

At one point, Jeff dangled outside the Steel Cage, and J.R. shouted, DROP DOWN AND DEAL WITH IT LATER!

But Punk locked in a head lock and applied a superplex from the top turnbuckle. Jeff Hardy lay motionless, and was not quick enough to stop CM Punk from escaping the cage.

As the bell rung and Jeff remained in the ring, you can sense that he wanted to cry.

We all know that Jeff Hardy and the WWE were discussing contracts and trying to get him to resign - but Jeff wouldn't have it. I, myself, go on about leaving either my job or a club, but in reality even when you talk about it, you realize its a major part of who you are and the person you have become. So even though Jeff wanted to leave the WWE, it's still who he is and he loves the WWE.

Matt Hardy wrote on his WWE Universe Blog, "he needs time away to heal physically and mentally." Partially, the reason Jeff left were nagging neck and back pains - but also because in his heart, there is still so much to do - like paint, build, sing, and so much more. His creativity is the Imag-I-Nation and its for everyone to explore their talents and dreams. To be anything you want to be.

Prior to SummerSlam, CM Punk asked hims, "Do you think you can fly?" And Jeff responded, "I don't think I can fly, My Spirit Knows I CAN!!!"

Jeff Hardy said to the fans in his farewell speech:

First of all, I'm sorry if I let anybody down. I'm sorry that now you'll be seeing CM Punk instead of me.. on Smackdown. But it's been One Hell of a Ride, hasn't!? I want to thank all of you and let you know... this is not goodbye forever... this is only goodbye for now. And if the time is right... I'm sure I'll see you in the future. Thank You All! Hey, at least Matt is back on my side, there's still another Hardy on this show! Yours Truly, Jeff Hardy, ours truly, this life! [Hardy's gun gesture]

This time, Jeff Hardy left on good terms with the WWE - who were impressed how far up the ranks he got CM Punk over as a top-rated Heel.

Thank you Jeff Hardy for the memories, WWE will not be the same without you. You were the sole reason why I watched WWE and always loved to mimic your hand gestures and non-fear to heights. I believed in you, believed you would become the WWE Champion when everyone else gave up. I believed that you would have a real World Heavyweight Title reign, when everyone else thought impossible.

This was a great ending - I hope you heal up and can't wait to watch you on The Hardy Show. You may be gone from the WWE, but not from my life.

Jeff Hardy's Good-Bye 8-25-09

The Smackdown Taping on August 25th 2009 was Jeff Hardy's final WWE program. For months it's been on everyone's mind, when was Jeff Hardy going to leave? He's been working on short month-by-month contracts and stayed to push CM Punk over.

At SummerSlam, Jeff Hardy dropped the title to CM Punk after a hellacious TLC and this upcoming Friday - Jeff Hardy will enforce his rematch clause and battle CM Punk in a steel cage match for the World Heavyweight Championship - in a Loser Leaves WWE match.

Backstage, WWE management told Hardy he had an open door to come back whenever he wanted and that if they could help promote his outside projects, they’d be happy to. Hardy said he wasn’t leaving because he was unhappy, but because he wanted time off the road and wanted to do things at his own pace.

A lot of the WWE talents were comparing his exit to Chris Jericho’s a few years back. The feeling backstage is that it’s a matter of time before Hardy is back. There has been a lot of praise on Hardy over the past few months as it’s felt that his work helped bring CM Punk to a new level.

But as Jeff says in his Goodbye Speech - There is still another Hardy on this Show.

And also mentions that when the time's right, he'll be back.

CM Punk Trumphs Hardy in TLC; The Undertaker Returns and Finds New Opponent

The final match was for the World Heavyweight Championship in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match!

CM Punk, winner of two consecutive MitB matches has always won his World Heavyweight titles through seizing opportunities – but tonight was a chance to prove that he could win it fare and square.

Jeff Hardy entered the arena with Black and White Face Paint – a sign that Hardy signed up for this war and was ready to tap into his dark enigmatic nature and bring hell to Punk.

CM Punk has been beating up Jeff Hardy for weeks, and continued to do so even in this match as he destroyed Jeff with a superplex off the top rope unto a ladder.

Jeff Hardy proving a master of these type of matches – flung Punk out of the ring and unto a table.

Jeff would continue his work by laying out Punk on the ECW announce table – smashing him with a steel chair, and then setting up a 20ft ladder in close proximity.

Now… Jeff Hardy hasn’t attempted this since Wrestlemania 17 where he crashed into Bubba Ray Dudley on a table.

Jeff Hardy stood atop of that 20ft Ladder and pretty much escalated his send off to his possibly departure from the WWE with one final stunt.

Jeff Hardy looked down at an unconscious Punk and dove off in a 20ft Swanton Bomb.

Hardy landed on Punk and both crashed through the ECW announce table.

Both men weren’t moving, but as the paramedics started to put Jeff in a neck brace – Punk made his way into the ring.

Jeff, some how, willed his way into the ring and the two shared blows at the top of the ladder, inches away from Championship Glory.

But it was Punk who was the better man and knocked Jeff off the ladder.

CM Punk is the new World Heavyweight Champion and as he stood over Jeff gloating – The lights began to flicker on and off.

Until the arena went into complete darkness…

When the lights came back on, Jeff Hardy had disappeared and in his place was The Undertaker!
Taker grabbed Punk’s neck and chokeslammed the hell out of him.

Seeing as Jeff is sent to leave the WWE – The Undertaker will start a feud with CM Punk.


This night marks the return of both Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker – the two have been gone since Wrestlemania 25 and have returned at SummerSlam.

Has Jeff Hardy decided to stay with WWE? An Enigmatic Finish to Smackdown

Jeff Hardy and CM Punk's chemistry in the ring is electric! Very few feuds can get a crowd worked up - but HARDY and PUNK is one for the ages.

It is a battle between two lifestyles: The Pious Punk believes that Straight-Edge is the way of life - alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs have never entered his system; then there's the Enigmatic Hardy's belief of Living for the Moment - all the habits that people have it's what makes us different and its a real and beautiful thing about life.

CM Punk wants to rid the WWE once and for all, the stain that Hardy's bad habits have had on the WWE Universe and destroy the Living for the Moment "crap" because there is only one way of living and that's Straight-Edge.

Jeff Hardy stood high atop the ladder and declared that CM Punk could not destroy everything that he has built in his 10-year career (yet, there is that gap of years where he was fired and joined TNA - but that's neither here nor there).

Punk demeaned his way of life and asked Hardy if he thinks he can fly - but Hardy responded, "I don't think that I can fly, my spirit KNOWS it can fly!"

CM Punk tried knocking Hardy out of the ring by tipping over the ladder, but Jeff managed to jump off and deliver a Twist of Fate to Punk - but not without yielding to a falling ladder to the top of the head.

But at the top of the segment, Jeff went on about how his doctors told him he should give up and quit pro wrestling before it is too late. And he goes on about that he is never one to listen to doctor's orders and he does not intend on starting now. What could this mean Jeff?

It's been on everyone's minds for months, when was Jeff actually leaving the company to pursue other endeavors.

Many see SummerSlam as Jeff's final ppv - Then that must mean he'll definitely lose the title tonight, right???

Well, the strange thing is Matt Hardy wrote on his twitter acct - @JEFFHARDYBRAND The time is near for the Hardy Empire to begin.. Starting with the Charismatic Enigma.. 8/25/09

Matt wrote this to his brother Jeff, but what Hardy Empire? The date mentioned is the taping of Smackdown following SummerSlam. So does this mean Jeff will keep his title come SummerSlam and then have a title match: brother vs. brother for the World Heavyweight Title?

It would actually be a nice send off for Jeff - who better to carry on the World Heavyweight Title than Matt Hardy?

Matt's jealousy started during Jeff's feud with Triple H for the WWE Championship - because he's the older one, why is Jeff getting all these World Title matches? And then when Jeff finally won at Armageddon 2008, Matt finally snapped.

But on Smackdown, Matt and Jeff are finally at peace. And as seen in the six man tag match, The Hardys are finally unified.

Yet... again Matt wrote something else on his Twitter acct - Here's an update for the "sheets" -Jeff & I might not team again due to pursuing singles careers. And Jeff will be with WWE after Summerslam.

Most people see this as a confirmation that Jeff Hardy has resigned with the WWE. But, I don't know... seeing as the Hardy Empire will begin 8/25/09? Will Jeff remain with the WWE and continue as the World Heavyweight Champion, while Matt goes on to rebuild his career - possibly become the Intercontinental Champion? Because Matt, in order to become a Grand Slam Champion, must become the IC Champion and then pursue the World Heavyweight Championship.

In the Grand Slam Championship regulations: The ECW and United States Championships do not qualify for the recoginition. However, Matt is almost there since he has 2 of the 4 titles neccessary: The World or WWE Tag Team Titles and The European Title.

The Six Man Tag Team match was one for the future DVD collections - when the Hardys had reformed before it was under Jeff's theme song, but on Smackdown it was to the old school The Hardy Boyz Entrance Theme. I thought that entrance theme was gone forever - but it's very much alive and returned for one night only.

The Hardys haven't lost a step as they executed Poetry in Motion on a cornered CM Punk. However, John Morrison didn't see much in-ring action for a good part of the match, because the audience were happy to see the Hardys team up once again.

Yet, when John Morrison did enter the ring, he made an impact - with his flying Chuck Kick, the Standing Shooting Star Press, and other insane high flying manuevers. Morrison even cleaned out the ring, getting rid of The Hart Dynasty and preforming a corkscrew over the ring and unto Smith and Kidd.

Thanks to Morrison, Jeff was able to get Punk with the Hangman over the top rope, leaving Matt to execute The Twist of Fate and pinning Punk for the win.

Matt Hardy was something else tonight. Not only has be patched things with his brother, but he pinned the #1 Contender for Jeff's World Heavyweight Championship.

The Question is: Will Matt and Morrison make their presence felt this Sunday in the TLC Match, since J.R. mentioned earlier that TLC Matches is a no disqualification setting, where ANYTHING can go?

Or will CM Punk recapture the World Heavyweight Championship and destroy Jeff's way of life forever?

Team Enigmas vs. Team Punks

Tonight is the final Smackdown before SummerSlam, the battle lines have been drawn, and a brand is divided. Tonight, anything can happen and everything will.

The Battle between Jeff Hardy and CM Punk has grown dark and fierce. Two ideals will be put on the line, but which one will prove true enough to withstand the tortures of tables, ladders, and chairs as the World Heavyweight Championship hangs high above them at SummerSlam?

CM Punk since losing his title at Night of Champions has been on a war path to retain the title. He claimed that he won the title fairly since those are the rules of the MitB contract, but Jeff won it in a full lenght battle and even kicked out of Punk's GTS!

Things haven't been easy for Jeff since Night of Champions, he's had to defend the title twice in the first two weeks of being champion: against John Morrison and CM Punk. But both times CM Punk brutalized Jeff, leaving him battered and broken.

CM Punk has proven in the past that he can win ladder matches, and these past 3 weeks, he's more than proven that he is extreme enough to attack with chairs - but is he ready for TLC?

A major deciding factor returned in full WWE action two weeks ago as the special guest enforcer - Matt Hardy.

Matt showed no remorse for his brother, but he did interfere with CM Punk's certain victory over Jeff in his title rematch.

Had Matt Hardy changed the error of his ways?

Well, when CM Punk once again attacked Jeff at the end of the hanicap match, Matt Hardy and John Morrison came to the Enigma's aid.

And all for nothing, Matt Hardy arrived on the scene to protect his brother - while John Morrison made his choice of who to side with.

Tonight, Teddy Long has set a tremendous main event: World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy teams up with Matt Hardy and John Morrison to take on #1 Contender CM Punk and The Hart Dynasty.

Who will walk away with all the momentum as SummerSlam draws near and the fate of Smackdown will be changed forever.

Matt Hardy Makes Amends with Jeff; John Morrison is 2-1 against CM Punk

As predicted here on WWETheReturn, John Morrison and CM Punk had a tremendous battle on Friday Night - But after three epic encounters, it was The Straight-Edge who put the Shaman to sleep!

Morrison had his hands full this week - not only did he have to face Hart Dynasty's D.H. Smith, but he had to face the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Champion - CM Punk.

John Morrison hit Punk with everything he had - a Springboard Backflip, The Flying Chuck, Knee to the Face, Cross-Body, Standing Moonsault!

Yet, Punk - not taking Morrison seriously in their first match, then being aggressive in their last encounter - did not take anything to chance and proved merciless in every kick and knee shot that the Muay Tai Master had to offer.

Especially with the double knee shot to the back of Morrison's head it wasn't long until CM Punk would secure the win.

Jeff Hardy, after sustaining a brutal beating last week - made his way into the ring to confront CM Punk and to announce that he will be there at SummerSlam to defend his World Heavyweight Title in a TLC Match.

McMahon, seeing Jeff Hardy return to Smackdown, forced Teddy Long to put Jeff in a 2-on-1 Handicapped Match against Hart Dynasty.

Jeff Hardy was in no condition to fight, especially against two trained members of Stu Hart's Dungeon.

Jeff Hardy is not the type to give up in a match, even when he is physically unable to compete - losing is not an option.

However, maneuvers such as the Twist of Fate and The Whisper in the Wind were attempted slower than usual - giving The Harts enough time to counter the moves.

The double team became too much for Hardy to endure and finally fell to The Hart Attack! - a tag team special move that I've wanted them to utilize and it finally happened.

It wasn't long for CM Punk to return to the ring and make other emphatic statement - by causing Jeff more physical harm.

But John Morrison, finished from his nap, cleared the ring - saving Jeff Hardy. Yet, Punk - showing what he can do with a steel chair, took care of John Morrison and attempted to put Jeff in the same chair lock to the steel post again.

Before Punk could get a chance - the most unlikely superstar came to prevent the move - Matt Hardy!

Matt unleashed a hell-bound rage on CM Punk - so afraid that he crawled on his hands and knees to avoid any physical punishment.

Left in the ring were Jeff and Matt - But instead of continuing the assault, Matt helped his brother up to a vertical position.

Matt Hardy has made it clear for two weeks that he has not returned to betray his brother. And let's hope not - because Teddy Long made the annoucement that next week it will be CM Punk teaming up with the Hart Dynasty against John Morrison and The Hardys!

Notable accomplishments go to The Hart Dynasty for taking down the World Heavyweight Champion with the move that has made the Hart Legacy so impressive.

Matt Hardy Enforces Title Match; TLC Match for SummerSlam Revealed

A brother returns, a title has been retained... and a challenge has been set for Championship glory.

At Summerslam - The Charismatic Enigma and the Straight-Edge Superstar go one-on-one in a TLC Match, consisting of Tables, Ladders, and Chairs!

It all started when CM Punk attacked Jeff Hardy before the start of the Championship match - The two were restrained and Vincent Kennedy McMahon announced a Special Guest Enforcer for later on in the night.

That enforcer was, none other than, Matt Hardy. The jealous brother who cost Jeff the WWE Championship, defeated him in an Extreme Rules match, sent him home on a stretcher, but uttered the words "I Quit." How could Jeff Hardy win - with his older brother looking on to his younger brother who once again captured a World Title.

This championship match was no match at all - it was a brawl between two lifestyles: Straight-Edge and Living for the Moment.

Matt Hardy remained silent throughout the proceedings of the match - Jeff Hardy not only had to retain his title, but watch his back - incase of another act of betrayal.

Yet, CM Punk, aiming for Jeff, struck the wrong Hardy - knocking Matt on his back with a baseball slide kick to the midsection.

Jeff Hardy may have escaped the GTS, but CM Punk countered The Swanton Bomb - And went for the cover.

But it would be Matt Hardy who would stop the 3-count by pulling the referee out of the ring.

CM Punk was outraged - he had the match won.

As he argued with Matt, Jeff went for the roll-up and The Enforcer counted the pin for a 1-2-3 victory and second title retain for Jeff Hardy.

Has Matt Hardy changed his ways? Is Matt going back to being a face? Or was Matt just punishing CM Punk for the strike?

Whatever the case may be - Matt Hardy was not there to prevent what happened next.

CM Punk, in outrage, destroyed Jeff Hardy by slamming his face into the announce table and wrapping Jeff's head inside a steel chair - only to throw him into the ring post.

I don't know if anyone noticed - But the cameras turned away from the two impacts - Jeff's head against the announce table, and Jeff - steel chair wrapped around his neck - into the ring post. The camera would cut away to the audience reactions.

Just last week, the WWE Universe witnessed Hardy's crimson mask as he was tortured by CM Punk - Is WWE tucking its tail between its legs and refusing to show too much physical violence??

Just this past Tuesday we witnessed a hellacious Extreme Rules Match between Christian and Tommy Dreamer for the ECW Title - why must we be cheated out of the carnage outside of the ring on Smackdown?

Smackdown GM Teddy Long issued CM Punk another rematch for the World Heavyweight Title if Jeff Hardy is able to contend by SummerSlam - the two will meet in a TLC Match!

The last TLC match was between Edge and The Undertaker - the match that saw Taker not only fall through four tables - but banished from the WWE under Vickie's orders.

Could this be Hardy's final match? The Stipulation that ignited Jeff Hardy's career - can it be the match that ends it?

Jeff Hardy has been in more ladder matches than anyone in the WWE - he is an expert and feels comfortable with the cold steel chairs, the hard wooden tables, and the unforgivable aerial assaults off of the ladders.

But CM Punk has contested in 3 Money in the Bank Ladder Matches at Wrestlemania - and won the last two - winning him 2 World Heavyweight Championship reigns.

These two understand the dangers that lie within the confines of the ladders - but CM Punk has never contested in a TLC.

What should have been an emotional week for Hardy turned ugly on Friday Night when CM Punk viciously attacked the exhausted Enigma.

After months of contending for the gold, Hardy fulfilled a lifetime dream by capturing the World Heavyweight Title, and last night Hardy would have to put that title on the line against "The Guru of Greatness" John Morrison.

Jeff mentioned in his opening remarks that John Morrison is one of the best that he has ever fought in the squared circle and that tonight it would be the greatest main event that will not only ignite Smackdown but the whole WWE UNIVERSE!

Interviewed by ECW's Josh Matthews, John Morrison proclaimed that Jeff Hardy is known for being the risk taker-putting everything on the line, and tonight he would do the same. He quoted Jeff Hardy - Tonight I'm the one who has nothing to lose.

Truer words were never spoken - as these two men clashed with death-defying moves leaving the Smackdown audience speechless.

The Shaman and the Enigma went through a roller coaster ride of maneuvers - Morrison, at one point, went for the cover with a standing Monkey Flip! It has not been said enough that Morrison's abdominal core is what makes him so deadly in the ring.

The two men know each other so well - countering one another's moves. Jeff tried to go for the sub-atomic leg drop, but was stopped short by Morrison.

Jeff Hardy attempted to end the match with a Twist of Fate and a Swanton Bomb - But Morrison kicked out! - As J.R. shouted - No one has ever kicked out of the Swanton Bomb!

Morrison tried going for the win with Star-Ship Pain, but Hardy blocked with a double knee lift.

With an ailing Morrison, Jeff Hardy went for the Twist of Fate-Swanton Bomb combination - and as he soared through the air for the second time - HARDY would get the pin and retain HIS World Heavyweight Championship.

This is the first-time that Jeff Hardy has defended a World Title successfully - His first title defense was at the Royal Rumble 2009 against Edge - he lost the WWE Championship with interference from his brother Matt; and the second time was against CM Punk's MitB Briefcase after his ladder match with Edge at Extreme Rules 2009.

As the crowds cheered for Hardy, the hardcore riffs of "This Fire Burns" blared through the speakers, with CM Punk going out to congratulate the winner.

CM Punk does not believe that Jeff was the better man at Night of Champions - and after raising Jeff's hand in victory, he struck Hardy with the microphone.

He uncontrollably attacked Hardy with vicious rights and lefts - slamming him against the retaining walls - putting him in the Inverted Anaconda Vice - and finally tossing him over the announce table.

As Punk attacked Jeff from the second retaining wall - Hardy's forehead was Crimson, possibly from the mic-shot at the start of the assault. This comes as a shock, since WWE is currently a PG-Rated program - no blood has been shown. Possibly, the WWE writers are finally getting some leeway of the content of the show.

The Main-Event match on Smackdown along with the Assault from CM Punk is the reason why Smackdown is the most dominating brand as of this moment.

After winning the World Heavyweight Title from CM Punk at Night of Champions, Jeff Hardy’s first match as the World’s Champion is a title defense against John Morrison.

Morrison hit the ground running ever since being drafted to Smackdown, he has secured victories on virtually every opponent, including the Former Champion, CM Punk twice; thus giving him a title match opportunity, in this case Jeff Hardy.

These two are no strangers to one another; they have had a storied rivalry during their days as Intercontinental Champion. Hardy and Morrison have done everything from ladder matches, tag team matches, to steel cage matches – But none of those matches compare to tonight, because it has never been for the World Heavyweight Title.

Morrison is looking to become a Triple Crown champion – and like everyone else, he wants to be recognized as the best.

This will be a match to remember, because they are not afraid of taking risks, they will put everything on the line so, by night’s end, they can have the distinguished honor of being called the Heavyweight Champion of the World.

Jeff Hardy: The Swanton Bomb that Defied the World

Ever since CM Punk cashed in his Money in the Bank on the newly crowned Jeff Hardy, Hardy has been determined to get his title back.

At The Bash, Hardy had issued his rematch clause - but Punk had supposedly injured his eye during the match, causing him to "accidentally" kick the referee.

Punk's preaching of Straight-Edge and challenging the WWE Universe left Hardy speaking of what he believers in - Living for the Moment.

Punk demands that everyone should be perfect and not fall into bad habits, but Hardy understands that everyone makes mistakes.

When Punk cashed in he did it for himself and turned on all his fans. He's lost two matches to Morrison, forfeited to Edge, and - as seen at Night of Champions - tried to walk away from the match.

CM Punk grew frustrated after hitting the GTS, because Jeff kicked out at two and wanted to walk away with his title.

Hardy knowing his chances were slipping, ran up the ramp and forced Punk back into the ring.

Punk attempted another GTS, but was hit with the Twist of Fate and an emphatic Swanton Bomb.

The WWE Universe and the crowds from the raptures - exploded in joy as Jeff Hardy was finally declared the World Heavyweight Champion.

Jeff, during his post match interview, stated that the title is not just for him, but for all the people who have ever believed in him.

While updating the Broodaholics on Twitter - I noticed skeptics about WWE making the last match the World Heavyweight Match, "It's pretty anticlimactic." Seeing as Jeff Hardy's contract has expired and he's working on shorter term contracts, it was believed that Jeff was putting Punk over as a class heel.
