RAW Pay-Per-View Matches are Hell Bound

Let’s start off with the United States Title, which it has been announced on RAW that it will be a Triple Threat Match inside a Hell in a Cell.

It all began last week, when The Miz stole the United States Championship in the middle of his tag team match. When interviewed this week of the reason for this theft, he claimed that he already walks and talks like a champion, and that it’s only a matter of time when he officially becomes the United States Champion. He also added that the United States Champion should be someone from the United States and not someone that washed on shore with a Bob Marley CD. But before he could finish his insult, The Jamaican Superstar attacked Miz and took back his championship.

Despite the attack, The Miz went on to face Evan Bourne in one on one action. The match was similar to their prior confrontation and it ended with the same result. The Miz connected with the Skull Crushing Finale and gained some momentum.

Now, this is what puzzled me: Jack Swagger was given a championship match against Kofi Kingston. And Swagger and Kofi started to wrestle, but The Miz came into the arena and stole back the title.

I know what you’re thinking, that’s what The Miz does. No, that’s not the strange thing, what was strange is that Swagger stopped wrestling and went after The Miz. He attacked him and then stole the title and walked away. How do you walk away from a championship match? Instead of stealing the title he should have won the match and become the official new United States Champion.

So now Kofi Kingston is a title-less champion who must defend it at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view in a Triple Threat Hell in a Cell match against Jack Swagger and The Miz.

Best of luck to Kofi Kingston.

Then there’s D-Generation X and their match against Legacy.

The two have each won a pay-per-view match: DX won at SummerSlam and Legacy won via submission at Breaking Point. Now these two will face off once more in a tag team Hell in a Cell.

At the start of RAW, DX cut a great promo detailing their accomplishments in Hell in a Cell matches. Stating that Shawn Michaels was in the very first Hell in a Cell and won, and Triple H has competed in five Hell in a Cell matches and won them all.

DX even talk about their Hell in a Cell Match against Vincent Kennedy McMahon, someone who they liked – so imagine what they will do to someone who they don’t like.

Now, Jerry Lawler messed up in his commentary stating that DX has never teamed up in a Hell in a Cell match – Uh, hello! That is what DX were talking about with Mr. McMahon: Unforgiven 2006 – DX vs. McMahons and Big Show in a 2 on 3 Hell in a Cell Handicapped Match. Therefore, DX have teamed before in what has been known as Satan’s Playground.

Sure, DX brings up a valid point that Legacy has never been in a Hell in a Cell, but these are the same guys that made DX submit. So in two weeks, this could be their final encounter, and it’s going to be a war inside Hell in a Cell.

And then there’s the WWE Championship Match.
John Cena is finally the WWE Champion once again, but his first title defense will be inside Hell in a Cell. Well, isn’t that comforting?

Randy Orton gave Legacy the night off and assured them that it’s a contract signing and nothing more, plus there’s a No Physicality rule in place during the signing.

If I were Legacy, I’d have stuck around, but Orton is always prepared.

The contract signing went well, but Cena started cracking jokes and laughing himself silly, because if Orton loses, then that’s it. There will be no more title opportunities because he would have used up his rematch clause. So then after Orton loses, he’ll be just some dude in his underwear, hanging around with two other dudes in their underwear.

But after their Breaking Point match, where Orton tortured Cena and still lost, how can he expect to beat Cena come Hell in a Cell?

And as I mentioned, Orton is always one step ahead and called in a favor from The Unified Tag Team Champions, Chris Jericho and The Big Show to take care of John Cena. But then again, MVP and Mark Henry were not a long ways off, and helped Cena out.

Monday’s Guest Host, Cedric The Entertainer, issued a six-man tag team match as the main event. But Jericho and Show had a talk with Cedric to raise the stakes of the match.

If the team of Orton loses, then Orton, next week, will face against the winning team in a gauntlet match; but the same goes for Cena if his team loses.

MVP and Mark Henry, trying to get back into the title hunt by defeating the tag champions, were ruthless in the match.

But despite trying to isolate Jericho, and Cena tossing Big Show out of the ring… it was the lightning strike of the RKO that took down The World’s Strongest Man for the 1-2-3.

Next week on RAW, just 6 days away from Hell in a Cell, John Cena will face off against Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, and The Big Show in a gauntlet match.

Will John Cena even make it to the pay-per-view? My prediction is that Cena will defeat the Tag Team Champions, but fall to the RKO.
