Teddy Long's Last Ride; Batista Stands Alone

Controversy over Sunday Night’s World Heavyweight Championship match has rumbled through the WWE Universe, ever since their hero The Undertaker was “forced” to submit.

Referee Scott Armstrong was interviewed on Smackdown, Why did he do it? His response was that he didn’t want to, and after thirty years in the business he was never asked to do such a thing, but what can you do when your job is on the line?

Vince McMahon interrogated Long for his actions, and made it clear that it was Long that double crossed The Undertaker.

Teddy Long was escorted by a troop of body guards, protecting him from any possible confrontation from The Undertaker. And after making a public apology for his actions, you would think that’d be enough to subdue the Phenom.

But… Long should have known that his time was up, and after being manipulated by the Demon Dealer, Mr. McMahon, he would have to answer to the Grim Reaper, The Undertaker.

Long got into his limo and thought he was home free, but all the doors locked and the driver revealed to be none other than The Undertaker. The back seat filled with smoke and Long’s voice started to echo. I’m going to take a wild shot in the dark and take it that Taker did NOT except Long’s apology.

This appears to be Teddy Long’s Last Ride with the WWE as he will Rest In Peace….

Now, over in the land of the living, Batista made his first appearance on Smackdown. You can tell the announcers are trying desperately to be enthusiastic of the new arrival and that Smackdown cashed in big – but in reality it was a terrible trade.

Recall when Triple H mentioned prior to forming a team to take on Legacy, “Batista’s always getting hurt all the time.” Batista is not made to last, he may have the heavyweight status but he cannot sell in the ring.

Batista called his main event match – if it wasn’t enough to see The Animal main event RAW to take on Randy Orton, we see him main event Smackdown with a match against One Half of the Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho.

Chris Jericho did the best he could to sell the match, but what can you do, if you go for the cover and Batista – with eyes wide open – looks like he’s counting in his head when to pull out? And when Grisham states that Batista’s shoulders were off the mat – of course they are Batista’s too big to have his shoulders reach!

Well, after defeating Chris Jericho on Smackdown – Batista will surely scale up the Power 25 Countdown as he has defeated WWE’s top heels in the same week.

Next week, Batista has been challenged by the other half of the Unified Tag Team Champions The Big Show – will he accept?
